Pics as promised!!

So here are the pics I promised! Here are the finished boxes of cards for my son's school Fundraiser. We raised $200 for the school which they were very grateful for. It was a little stressful to get it finished, but a great experience to help out the school. Might even do it next year!!

Then on to making gifts for school teachers! Now, having 5 children at school, some with 2 or 3 teachers, it makes for a lot of gifts to make for Christmas. So I did something simple and the same for all the teachers, just changing the colours of the papers and ribbons. I saw this idea at the Stampin' Up! Brisbane Regionals, it's just a little post-it-note booklet, quick and easy to make- and I ended up making 8 for teachers (with a little gift bag of choccies!) and a couple for friends as well!

I saw this type of flip calendar on a blog some time ago and thought one day I would try it. So I made it for a friend for Christmas and she absolutely loved it. It was pretty simple to make too.

Then onto the gifts I made for my sister-in-law for Christmas. I stuck to the fancy stationery theme and did another post-it-note booklet, a flip calendar, memo block (yes all the individual papers in the memo block were stamped-I think about 300 sheets!!), and a covered notebook and matching pen. Liv loved it. I thought they turned out quite nicely, if I say so myself!!

I also did a calendar for my parents, and will post that soon.

Looking forward to a new year and more stamping time. I have one more child off to school this year and only one left at home!! So I'm hoping to have more time to stamp and post on my blog.

Hope you all have a safe new year!

Bad Blogger!!

I know, it has been far too long! Here are some of the pictures I promised some time ago. I followed a sketch from '52 Sketches' to come up with these pages for a scrapbook workshop. These are pictures of my family taken Christmas 2008. They all scrub up well. I'm still yet to do my titles for these pages, if you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

I will return shortly with some more pics of the fundraiser cards and gifts I made for CHristmas.

Birthday Fun!

Both of my sisters have had their birthdays this month so I have played around a bit to make them something fun!

Here's what I made for Sarah- I made matching mini magazine holders for her to put her cards in. These were so easy to make (I found a great tutorial here- http://www.stampinwithblythe.com/2009/03/magazine-files-downsized-into-card-files.html)

And here is the birthday card I made her. I followed the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.com to make this wiper card. I love how it looks like a normal card then you pull both sides out to reveal a fun pop up. Love it!!

Now.... For Claire's birthday I learnt how to do the Faux Allligator technique at a training day with my upline Ingrid, and we made the handbag. Now Claire is a bit of a shoe freak - I think she only has about 40 something pairs!! - so I just knew I had to make shoes to go with her bag card for her birthday!! So here they are - and yes, she loved them!! I found a great template/tutorial for the shoes at ellenhutson.com

And Here are the shoes and bag together. Aren't they cute!!

Well I have to be off now - heading up to school to help teach Jessica's class (yr 5's) how to crochet!!

Catchya again soon - still have plenty more photos to post!!

Christmas Catch Up!

I know I have been slack in updating by blog, but you know how it is - Husband, 6 kids, sports day, new job, late nights, etc, etc! But anyway, here is a start. Below are the six cards I did for my Christmas in July Workshop. I will post some more soon. In the essence of time I won't be putting up recipes, but if you want to know what I have used for each card, leave a comment and I will get back to you.

This one was inspired by Marelle Taylor (http://www.marelletaylor.com/)

This was inspired by another stamper's blog I've been on but can't find it again - sorry.

This card was inspired by the scrapbook page in the Stampin' Up! catalogue showing this stamp set.

This is one I created myself - that doesn't happen very often!!
Oh, and this one too - I think!

Will post again soon - I want to show you the shoes and hand bag I made for my sisters birthday!

Page Corner Bookmarks

Each month Stampin' Up! Demonstrators receive a Newsletter from Stampin' Up! to help us in our business and they always have some great ideas and samples for us to make. A couple of weeks ago I was watching the Stampin' Up! channel on You Tube and they showed how to make Page Corner Bookmarks and I thought they were so cool! But didn't write down the measurements and haven't had a chance to go back to it. Then when I received my newsletter this week, it had the measurements and some samples in it. So I made a couple up quickly and they are so easy, and like I said, quick!! So here are the ones I made....

If you want to know how to make them, let me know and I will get the template and instructions to you. Or we could make them at a workshop! Well, I have to go and put some more stamps together - I received my Preorder of new stamps that will be released in the Spring Mini Catalogue on the 1 August. Hopefully I can play a bit over the next week or so and I'll put up some stuff I do with the new stamps.

Some More Cards....

I had a great night out at a workshop last night and I wanted to share the cards that we made.

This card is using Pink Pirouetted, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive and Whisper White Cardstock; Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon; and the Echoes of Kindness and Best Yet Stamp Sets; Riding Hood Red and Old Olive Inks and Blender Pens. I stamped the flowers using the Faux Silk Technique onto Tissue Paper.

I made this card using Old Olive, Tangerine Tango and Very Vanilla cardstock; Haiku DSP; Old Olive grosgrain ribbin; Upsy Daisy Stamp Set; So Saffron, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive Inks and Blender Pens and Sponge Daubers. I love doing the sponging straight onto the stamp to get this effect. I love it in shades of purple as well!

I love Eggplant!! I used Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum and Very Vanilla Cardstock; Cupcakes Wheel and Crazy for Cupcakes Stamp Sets; Elegant Eggplant, Basic Gray, Creamy Caramel, Pale Plum, Riding Hood Red Inks and Blender Pens (or if you have those colour in Markers that would be easier than using the blender pens!); Scallop Edge Punch; Sponges and Elegant Eggplant Ribbon - and of course BLING - Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and Two-way Glue Pen.

So I hope you enjoy trying these for your self!!

Better Late than Never!!

School Holidays are fun, aren't they?! It's great having the kids home, but they slow me down doing the things I would like to do!! SO finally here are some of the sneak peaks for the Christmas in July Stamp-a-Stack I will be running this Friday. Don't forget to shoot me an email if you would like to come. I will post the full pictures of the cards after the Stamp-a-Stack. Oh, and we will be doing more, I just haven't finalised them yet!

Woohoo! New Stamps

What a day! Had a very early start with Hannah. Up at 4.30 to get her ready and up to school by 5.45am to catch her bus to the airport and a plane to Canberra. She's off for the week - checking out Parliament, the War Memorial, Questacon, the Space centre and the Snow!! I'm sure she'll enjoy her week away, and we'll pick her up on Saturday. While she was having fun, I had a visit to the dentist - my most favourite place to be - NOT! I had a broken filling and had to get it replaced. I told the dentist I didn't want to feel a thing - and I didn't - not until about 3 this afternoon!!(and my appointment was at 11!!) Yes, it was hard to eat, speak and drink! But it was pain free, which is how I like it.
So it was great when I got home and found my latest order from Stampin' Up! I have some new Christmas stamps to be able to do my Christmas in July Stamp-a-Stack. So after having a Nanna Nap this afternoon, and eating a yummy dinner that LeRoi cooked, I watched my favourite show - Masterchef- and put my stamps together. Have to be ready to stamp over the next couple of days. I will put a sneak peak up of the cards we'll be doing at the Stamp-a-Stack.

If you live in the Centenary area ( west of Brisbane) and would love to come to the Christmas in July Stamp-a-stack, it will be on Friday 10th July at 10am and 7pm. Shoot me an email- deb.williams@optusnet.com.au - if you'd like to come, and I will email you all the details.

Will post the sneak peak photos in a day or two.

FINALLY some pictures

FINALLY I've had a chance to sit down and create some cards and photograph some I did a little while ago. This is going to be a long post, so I hope you enjoy!

I did this card for the New Catalogue Launch workshop back in April. I've since done it in other colours as well. It is simple and quick and that's what I like about it. I used Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss and Very Vanilla Cardstock; Kiwi Kiss Striped Grosgrain ribbon; Eyelet Border Punch; Friendly Words Wheel; Weathered Background Stamp; Tangerine Tango and Kiwi Kiss Ink. I rolled the wheel then used my blender pens to take off the Tangerine Tango ink from the word 'friends',then used the blender pen to pick up the Kiwi Kiss ink and colour the word 'friends'. Then lined up the wheel and rolled it across the vanilla.

I've seen alot of this kind of card with the brayering and the trees. Thought I might give it a go. Brayering is not something I do alot of, but this was really easy so I might be doing some more. I really love the effect. I've use Not Quite Navy, Kraft and Gloss White card and some DSP from the Bella Bleu Pack. I used the Not Quite Navy ink pad and stamp straight onto the main card to get the background effect, and used versamark on the Kraft card to get the same effect. I used Brocade Blue and Not Quite Navy inks to do the brayering and I brayered the whole card with the Brocade Blue, then did a mask for the moon, then brayered the top part of the card using Not Quite Navy Ink. Then stamped the trees (Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set) using Black Staz On, and the words (stamped in Staz On) were from the stamp set Trendy Trees. Great masculine card, just change the words.

I've had this set (a current Hostess Set) for a little while and have been waiting to use it. And finally found and card that would suit it. I got my inspiration from the Mojo Monday blog ( http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/) Fabulous site for inspiration. This card was based on the Mojo Monday Sketch Week 70. I've used Bashful Blue and Whisper White Cardstock and DSP from the Washington Apple Paper pack. I've used Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss and Basic Gray Ink. And to finish it I have used a Silver Designer Holder to bring out the word LIFE.

This was also inspired by a Mojo Monday Sketch (week 68). I've used Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White Cardstock; DSP from the Sweet Always paper pack. I stamped the Hippo from Pun Fun with Black Staz On onto the white cardstock, then coloured in with Basic Gray, Regal Rose and Pumpkin Pie inks. I punched a 1" Pumpkin Pie circle and folded it in half and attached it to the hippo card using a circle brad from the Silver Hodgepodge Hardware kit. I finished it with stamping the Hip-hippo-ray onto white and punched out with small oval punch and then attached with the silver frame from the Silver Hodgepodge Hardware kit. I sponged the card edges as well - I like to sponge because I think it just softens the edges a bit. Especially with the white card.

This is a really easy card. I kind of just kept it basic for some girls who haven't stamped before. I've used Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla Cardstock. I stamped the Weathered Background stamp with versamark on the main card. Then stamped the flowers from the Pocket Silhouette Stamp set using Always Artichoke and Bravo Burgundy Inks. I stamped the 'friend to friend' words (from the same set) with Bravo Burgundy as well. Once again I sponged and added some Bravo Burgundy ribbon. Basic, I know, but I think it looks great, and it's real quick to put together.

I used Rose Red, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White Cardstock; I think it was Rose Red DSP - can't remember which pack I got it out of!!; I stamped the cupcake image (Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set) with Black Staz On ink, then coloured using the blender pens and Blush Blossom, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red and Basic Gray Ink Pads. Finished it off with some Pretty in Pink Grosgrain ribbon and a spot of Glitter on the cupcakes.

So there you have it. The first lot of photos! I think I'm going to enjoy this. Well better get back to the real world - no not back to the kids, but Masterchef has just started and I'm hooked!!

Catchya in a day or two.

Will post some pictures soon

I promise I will post some cards soon. I have been down with a head cold since last Thursday- still not 100% yet, but I'm hoping that now the fuzz in my head is mostly gone, I might actually be able to stamp and come up with something creative. I have some ideas to try, so will get onto that in the next day or two and hopefully when you come back to visit there will be a myriad of pictures uploaded!! Have to do some shopping first for J's birthday today! He wants a dog! So we will be obliging and get a toy dog like Joe's!! Then once that's done and cake is made.....I know I can hear the stamps calling!!

Catchya soon,

Here Goes!!

I've had a few people tell me how much fun it is to blog and how great it is to share what they have done. For a long time now, I have been lurking on a lot of other blogs, gleening from others and thought it might be time for me to share things that I have done and maybe even inspire someone else. So I'll share things I create and maybe even stuff about my family and what keeps me going. I hope you enjoy.
